I stand outside my self
You across the table
drinking something bitter –
Me slouched diagonally,
stirring what’s in my cup,
stirring what’s on my mind
or yours.
Here I am standing,
third point of isosceles
looking for all the world
on all the world playing out
before me – If it’s not here,
it’s nowhere.
And with these other eyes
and third mind
and silent voice
I tell my self
to pass the spoon
to you.
